Evaluation, Diagnosis, and Treatment
Evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment are separate components in the psychological process. Psychologists always evaluate first, then follow with an informed diagnosis for a tailored treatment program.
Standardized tests are used to identify academic, work, or social difficulties and to focus on areas needing intervention. Tests, questionnaires, and checklists are used when required. This ensures an objective assessment by comparing results to established norms. Children, adolescents, and adults can be evaluated, treated, and diagnosed when required by a school, institution, or court.
